Soft green leaves, chiseled into seven or nine lobed and toothed segments, form a generous, easy-to-grow basal clump. Perched on tall branching stems, the clustered signature blooms feature broad, slightly recurving pointed petals.

The Geranium phaeum species is native to mountainous regions in Europe from the Pyrenees to western Russia. It is an herbaceous perennial found in light woodland or damp, shady locations. It forms an upright clump and its leaves often have brownish-purple markings.Geranium phaeum ‘Walküre’ flowers in late spring to early summer. It has wide, delicately coloured lavender-blue flowers with pale blue centres. Light green leaves. Divide the clumps in the spring or early autumn, prune the foliage and remove the dried floral stems. Mulch with leaf compost at the beginning of the winter.
