Trollius chinensis Golden Queen


This very distinctive Globe-Flower has a central mass of upright orange stamens and slashed petals filling open orange bowls. Slightly later flowering than others. From damp grassland in North East China. Midsummer.

“Globeflowers” burst into colour in late spring and early summer, this variety having semi-double, golden yellow flowers, with a brightly contrasting centre of deep orange, above stems of dark-green, divided leaves. They do best in a part-shaded border or at the edge of moist woodland.
