Thalictrum delavayi “album”

Thalictrum delavayi Album is a superb variety of Thalictrum delavayi with attractive and delicate lime-green maidenhair fern-like foliage and bearing in summer large panicles of airy pure white flowers. As well as being and excellent and rather good-looking perennial in the border, they make an unusual cut flower in a vase.

Distinctive for its gauzy white flowers with pale yellow stamens gracing sizable branched sprays, this classy clump-forming Thalictrum is grounded by finely divided, Aquilegia-style fresh green foliage. “Albums” delicate upright silhouette provides peerless texture-rich accents that effectively contrast bold-leafed plants such as Hydrangea in a mixed border. Thalictrum delavayi ‘Album’ is a slower growing cultivar with pure white flowers. The leaves are also a much lighter green. “Albums” needs rich soil & a subtle support in the form of surrounding plants or hazel branches. A desirable late summer plant for the shady border.
