Description
One of the more unusual of the ornamental rhubarbs with pretty reddish purple hand- like leaves that bear tall spires of deep red flowers in May/June. Height 180cm (6′) These magnificent plants add a touch of class to gardens, their architectural form being a real show stopper.The crinkled young leaves are rosy-purple, which remains on the backs of the leaves, while the topsides turn dark green. The tall branching flower spires are massed with tiny cherry-red flowers while the seed cases are translucent rose-red.
