Description
Grown for its foliage rather than its flowers, ‘Red Dragon’ is an unusual herbaceous plant for the border or large containers. The sharply pointed leaves are dark maroon in colour with darker centre surrounded by a pale white band. It forms a handsome, upright clump and is happy on most soils in full sun or light shade. Plant with contrasting foliage plants such as golden leaved grasses or silver Plectranthus. It generally grows to 45cm – 60cm in height but give it a deep rich soil and it can easily get to 90cm as it does here at Lewis Cottage.
