Persicarias are beloved of many garden designers for their airy feel and dancing, elegant, vertical flower spires from July until at least October. Orange Fields is a newish variety that produces slender spikes of little orangey pink flowers above a mound of large, oval mid-green leaves. Persicarias have been undergoing a revival of interest recently and flower for a long period in zingy colours. For sun or light shade, and not too dry a spot!

Description

Persicaria amplexicaulis, is a semi-evergreen, clump-forming perennial from which long, slender spikes clustered with tiny, fluffy flowers appear from midsummer. Its flowers are popular with bees and other pollinators, and its foliage quickly makes dense groundcover.  ‘Orange Field’ is a particularly lovely variety, bearing delicate spikes of orange-pink flowers above a mound of large, oval mid-green leaves.Grow Persicaria amplexicaulis ‘Orange Field’ in moist soil, such as in a bog garden or next to a pond. Lift and divide congested clumps in spring or autumn.
