Product Description
A stunning, versatile and easy to grow garden choice, Tiarella wherryi (Wherry’s Foamflower) ground cover features a lush clump of heart shaped, lobed green leaves with reddish purple veining that turn bronze in the colder months. In late Spring, attractive pinkish white star-shaped flowers are borne on slender stems that will last through the Summer and delight the bees – especially if you cut back spent flower stems to encourage new blooms.
Semi-evergreen, with some of the foliage dying back in Winter, Tiarella wherryi make a lovely colourful low growing addition to the front of mixed beds and borders or woodland shadier areas where some other plants would not thrive, they also make a great container plant. Highly effective as a weed supressing ground cover carpet if planted in groups, they will provide near year-round colour with the added interest of their plume stalks of delicate flowers from late Spring through to early-mid Summer (trim these flower stalks down to their base when they have gone brown and the plant will continue to produce flowers – though with less regularity towards the end of their flowering season).
