Description

This deciduous, bushy shrub transforms its hue as it ages. Sambucus plumosa Aurea starts off with fine, bronze leaves, before turning a golden-yellow shade – great for introducing bright colour to a shady area. Producing small, light yellow flowers in spring and following up with shiny red berries, it’s an ideal shrub if you’re on the lookout for mixed border plants with a difference. Can grow up to 3m in height and spread. Prune in spring and coppice every three to four years to constrain its size.
